Helping Grieving Hearts:
You’re Not Alone,
You Have Support

We believe that no one should tread this challenging journey alone. Your pain is not meant to be carried in solitude. At Gifts from Liam, we understand the depths of sorrow and the need for connection.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) Subcommittee

Gifts from Liam is collaborating with Family Connects Chicago to spearhead a Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) Subcommittee, dedicated to enhancing bereavement support for families grappling with PAIL in the Chicagoland area. We invite all those passionate about bolstering support for grieving families to join our committee.

Chicago Pregnancy and Infant Loss (ChiPIL) Project

Since 2022, Gifts from Liam has partnered with SIDS of Illinois, Inc. to offer scholarships for advanced bereavement training through their Chicago Pregnancy and Infant Loss (ChiPIL) Project. Scholarship opportunities are announced annually. Sign up to our newsletter for updates or next opportunities.

Research Projects

These projects are for everyone, but given what we know about unequal outcomes in the healthcare system, it is especially important for BIPOC to participate in research to understand why our babies die so we can save them. Click the link below to learn more.

The Pregnancy Research Project seeks to understand what factors contribute to poor pregnancy outcomes by surveying people who have had any pregnancy outcome.

The Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Study wants to talk to people who have had a pregnancy or infant loss to better understand how having or lacking resources affected your experiences. Sharing your story will help to understand how to better support future families and contribute to improving future outcomes.

Have you or your family experienced a stillbirth? We want to hear from you. Our goal is to help improve the implementation of Liam’s Law and other similar laws throughout the country, giving dignity and respect to both the families of stillborn babies, and the babies themselves.
